Congratulations to Greta Jones of the Uniting Church and Bruce Hodges of the Anglican Church on being awarded Citizens of the Year!We rejoice with them as dedicated Snowy Mountains Church members who have shined brightly in the community, making a difference through selfless voluntary hard work over the years.
The grace and love of God has been with them in many and varied achievements. Our church continues to be blessed by their love and generous service. They ser a very high atandard for us all to strive towards.
Any one who knows then will confirm that they rough edges from the tough things they have stood for and are standing up for in the Snowy. As we get to know eachother we will notice that most of us are "rough diamonds".
The Alpine Congregation of the Uniting Church has been doing so for over 100 years, so we do know something about what it takes to get by down here in the Snowies.
Bruce and Greta would agree that they are far from perfect, but do the best they can with the talents, and the imperfections, they carry, empowered by a loving God
The apostle paul told the church at Corinth in Sunday's epistle reading, that "God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God chose the weal things of the world to shame the strong".
Our churches and communities will grow as we trust in the love of God to use us despite our rough edges
May His love sparkle through you precious gems as we move out in trust and learn to make a difference in our world.
